She started swimming at the age of 12 years at the Annual Swimming Camps organized by Air-India under the guidance of Ms. Arti Pradhan. Initially she joined swimming camps as a hobby. She was encouraged by her coach to take up sea swimming and was given an exposure to the sea for the first time in 2004/2005. slowly she developed interest and decided to make a career in swimming.
She has participated in the yearly Sunk Rock to Gateway of India sea races conducted by the Maharashtra State Amateur Aquatic Association. She swam in a relay pattern Dharamtar to Gateway of India in 2004 and thereafter swam from Morha to Gateway of India solo in 2005. In 2006 November, she swam Dharamtar to Gateway of India solo.
She is now preparing to take the plunge to tame tides of the seven seas and as a first jump, she will be attempting to swim the English Channel in September, 2007, from Dover in England to Calais in France a distance of approx., 32 Kms in biting cold waters which would be anywhere between 5° C to 12° C.

She will also be attempting to swim the shark infested waters of the Strait of Gibraltar, her next step in the seven seas programme, in the second week of October, 2007.

He started swimming at the age of 16 at the Annual Swimming Camps organized by Air-India under the guidance of Ms. Arti Pradhan. Initially he was afraid of water. He too, like the others, was encouraged by the coach to take up sea swimming and was given an exposure to the sea for the first time in 2002 when he swam in a relay from Dharamtar to Gateway of India. 33 Kms stretch.
Thereafter he started participating in the yearly Sunk Rock to Gateway of India sea races conducted by the Maharashtra State Amateur Aquatic Association. He was again part of a relay from Dharamtar to gateway of India in 2004. In 2006 November, he swam Dharamtar to Gateway of India solo.
He is now preparing to take the plunge to tame tides of the seven seas and as a first step, he will be attempting to swim the English Channel in September, 2007, from Dover in England to Calais in France a distance of approx., 32 Kms in biting cold waters which would be anywhere between 5° C to 12° C.
 
He will also be attempting to swim the shark infested waters of the Strait of Gibraltar, the next step in his seven seas agenda, in the second week of October, 2007.

She hails from a sports and arts loving family. Her family has always encouraged her special liking towards Adventure Sports and Classical Dance.

She has participated in various adventure races, trekking and mountaineering camps/events.

She has been trained in Indian classical dance form “Odissi” She has also performed the dances at some prestigious events.

Her swimming career started at the age of 8 when she learnt swimming under Ms. Arti Pradhan at the Annual Swimming Camps organized by Air-India. Swimming became a passion for her as the years passed by and she participated in a relay sea swim event where the relay team from Air-India swam the distance from Dharamtar to Gateway of India in November, 2004. Thereafter she aimed higher and swam solo from Dharamtar to Gateway of India a Distance of 33 Kms in November, 2006.
